Bridging the gaps between needs and resources.

At Form Communities, we provide direct services, cultivate recovery communities, strengthen the behavioral health workforce, and build-up our partners. We find ways to bridge the gap between needs and resources.

Vision

A world where every individual has access to the support they need for mental wellness in a community that cares.

Our Purpose

To empower peer-led recovery and wellness communities.

Goal

To enhance the effectiveness and reach of recovery organizations and networks, ensuring that no one faces mental health challenges alone.

Our Journey

from a recovery community, to a builder of communities

We were founded in 2003 as the San Antonio Clubhouse. In 2022, we rebranded as Form Communities to capture the spirit of our work to help build wellness through recovery-focused supportive communities. Today, we extend our reach across Texas and beyond, spending just as much time supporting other organizations as we do providing direct services to individuals.

An overview of our work

Form Communities does three types of work

we operate intentional communities and Peer Support programs.

we strengthen and expand the Peer workforce.

we remove barriers so other organizations can do the same.

Mental Health Workforce Development

While our community faces a shortage of mental health professionals, we are fortunate to have a wealth of resilient individuals with personal recovery experiences eager to support others. Our workforce development initiatives are geared towards converting these personal journeys into impactful careers within the community.

Direct Mental Health Support

We were founded with a mission to help people with mental illness integrate into society. We were focused on being in community with others and working on life goals, such as employment. Twenty years into our work, we continue to expand ways of connecting people to communities, others in recovery, and workforce and support opportunities.

Impact Scaling and Sustainability Services

Our direct mental health interventions are life-saving, but we recognize that our efforts will never be enough. We share every insight gained from our experiences to aid others in providing similar services. There’s no reason why we have to compete, or why we all have to relearn the same lessons. We don’t gatekeep–we build bridges for other organizations.
